The good thing about being sick is - I've not been to work in days. Less of my workplace is always a good thing.

I Love Christian Lacroix

Rachel and I finally went for the Christian Lacroix: The Costumier exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore and it was such a treat. We met late Saturday morning, the museum was nice and quiet with a lovely mix of old Singapore architecture spruced with glass and marble and fancy light structures. There was an installment of swinging red (or were they black?) chandeliers over the large atrium where all the escalators were. The escalators were like different rivers, each one you took would take you to a different place. We found the one that led us to Lacroix and gleefully hopped on.

I doubt I could properly find the words to describe what a gorgeous exhibition it was. I have to give props to the curators at our museum who did such an excellent job. It was quiet, dark, with a lush interior and beautiful music spanning from opera to musicals - the works that Mr Lacroix had been a costumier for. I can already feel my descriptions degrading what I've seen and what I've experienced. Unfortunately, Rachel and I didn't take a lot of pictures, because we really were quite awestruck by all the beauty. So we do hope this little snippet can offer you a taste of what Rachel and I were privileged to enjoy.

A beautiful range of dresses and robes for the theatre.

Spinning tutus above us! In a room that had walls of angelic white curtain, delicately draped and functioned as a screen on which ballet performances were projected on. Ethereal and breathtaking. I really loved this little room.

I wish I could aptly describe to you the detail of this dress, the way the bodice was stitched, the way the layers fell - I would wear this dress in a heartbeat. Exquisite.

I remember leaving the exhibition with 1000 new ideas for dance costumes for future performances. I hope the exhibition travels to your city soon! It's truly remarkable.

Heavy Shoes For Heavy Hearts

As you know, I've been very crushed due to certain crushing events these past days. So when I was out about town yesterday, I stepped into our local Dries Van Noten store and tried on these favourites of mine. I remember seeing them on the runway and positively drooling. That thick black bandeau across the foot is just the sexiest thing I've ever seen. Not to mention, terribly comfortable.

I felt a fraction bit better, as I trotted around the store in these beauties. Certainly a very fashionable respite.

Although the likelihood is very low for such exclusive and high-demand shows, one can still hope. :) Also, I probably will go and just, stalk the tent on the night of the show, just to soak in the atmosphere and breathe in the air of fashion royalty. Dame Westwood, here I come!

I love TheCorner.com and have already made a purchase from there as a gift for a friend. Everything about this site is awesome. Which brings me back to my email. Broken Hearts

I have missed my ONE AND ONLY chance to catch a Vivienne Westwoodshow. All tickets are sold-out. I am hoping to score some other way of getting to watch the show. I can't believe it. The Queen of Anglomania comes to my little country and I can't participate in it at all. Why oh why oh why? *starts to have a crying fit*

Tears and broken hearts aside. There is a chance for me to attend this:

I would be a fool not to attend it, n'est-ce pas? Especially since tickets are still available and they are ridiculously cheap for a chance to be in the presence of 2 fashion greats, hearing their thoughts and opinions. All of you would murder me I'm sure, if I didn't attend this. And to see Gareth Pugh in the flesh my god. Would I die in his presence? Yes probably. But I would die of a more painful heartbreak if I didn't go.

Does anyone remember that movie, Down To You, that starred Julia Stiles and Freddie Prinze Junior? I remember when I was about 15, I totally had the hots for FPJ. It was a really sweet movie. I should go rent it sometime. It'd be nice to watch again.

Here's a shot of Rachel, because we've not seen her in a while. Heck, I've not seen her in a while myself. I took a rain check for the Christian Lacroix exhibition that we were supposed to go to because I was very, very under the weather. (Did you see that? "Rain check" and "under the weather"? Okay, sorry. :p)

I don't know why I'm so awake at 1 am. Maybe it's because I've finally gotten my hair trimmed and I feel very energised. It could also be the throbbing pain in my right ear, which now holds a new piercing, just because I felt like getting one right after my hair cut.

Edible Art?

Believe it or not, the title of this post also references Twilight. In this case, I reference a line in the the movie from a scene which specifically references the book cover. You know, the cover art that featured two hands holding a red apple. If anything, the Twilight saga gave us some awesome art. My personal favourite is the Eclipse cover, which bears the picture of a piece of red silk ribbon sort of falling from somewhere, and ripped in the middle.

But why the Judith Leiber pieces again? Well, I don't know. They were just too alluring and since I have a sort of mild fascination with apple-shaped bags, I couldn't resist putting these pictures up. Speaking of apple-shaped bags, for some bizarre reason, I seem to recall Missoni having some kind of strange cute little handbag, very much like the Judith Leiber ones. It was apple-shaped, bright red, life-size (i.e. the size of a real apple) but sans the sparkle. I don't quite remember the material it was made from though because I've obviously not seen it at close range (otherwise I doubt I'd have this conundrum in the first place).

Is my memory failing me, deceiving me or mistaking me? Was there ever another apple bag somewhere? I've been trying to find it since thinking I had seen it in a magazine, and even so far as thinking I'd seen it in a store in Singapore that carried Missoni pieces.

It must have been a poisoned apple, for I feel a little muddle-headed. :/

Do I Dazzle You?

I apologise for the Twilight reference in the title. For some reason my Twilight fever has returned so it's sort of invading all my thoughts at the moment.

You know, I love dark things. Dark chocolate, dark eyemakeup, dark hair, dark songs, dark dances, dark lights (yes, they do exist) and dark colours of course. But there is this part of me, and I'm sure my blogtwin La Couturier can testify to this, that goes insane over anything, pink, sparkly and even flowery. And you must know, I hate flowers in real life. Fresh ones in particular. *shivers*

So it is perfectly believable that I would go nuts for Judith Leiber. I have harboured a secret crush for her products for a long time. I have seen a few pieces of hers in real life at some super duper uber posh stores in Singapore and they are absolutely stunning. Her clutches and pill boxes are so tremendously adorable in size and shape. So when encrusted in rainbowed patterns of delightful crystals, you can imagine the insanity that goes through my body.

I will say though, that I picked this particular piece, Dolphin, to prove just one other point about my love for her products. It's not just the sparkles and the cuteness and the overwhelming prettiness. What I really admire actually, is the way she incorporates these beautiful fluid shapes into functional clutches or pill boxes. If you browse through her collections, you will see how innovative and how personable each piece is. They all feel so specially made, almost as if they had some kind of backstory. Those shaped like fruits feel as though they did grow from tiny little seeds (Swarovski encrusted seeds, of course). Those shaped like animals or symbols like hearts and what-not, do really feel like they have a living spirit in them.

Do they dazzle me? Oh yes indeed. But it's a dazzling that far surpasses the crystals that in actual fact, only serve to refract light. A beautiful refraction, of course, but refraction nonetheless. It's the type of dazzle that doesn't require light, that really captures your heart.

Bella would have known exactly what I was talking about. :)

A Nail-Biting Weekend

1. I am mourning the loss of my long nails (because one broke so I cut the rest off. :x). Without my lovely long nails, I can't paint fun stuff on them, like you see in the photos above. Sigh. :(

2. I am excited about tomorrow, because Rachel and I will be headed down to the Christian Lacroix: The Costumier exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore. Exciting, beautiful stuff, I'm positive. :D

3. I am truly biting my nails over a kind of possible job intervention this Sunday. I say intervention because this is a kind of saving grace I need from my current one. You know how when you have some kind of problem, or are stuck in some rut and you need "intervention"? Yes. I am referring to exactly that semantically. (Or is it pragmatically? My degree in linguistics is obviously turning into dust. Haha.)

P.S. Perhaps Too Many Tights may be interested to know that the 'gloves' my girls are wearing were actually knee-high sheer stockings that we had cut to make gloves. It's just easier to find a greater variety of tights than gloves, it seems. My dancers and I love the effect: the colour, the translucency and the fit. Absolute love! Tights and stockings are going to rule the world! Yay!

After resisting 3 times, I finally succumbed and got myself Prada's butterfly shades. They are huge and they are fun. :D

One more shot of my hair. You can see a tinge of the purple! It isn't as purple as I wanted it though, but I love it overall. Not to mention, it's incredibly comfortable.

It's nothing fantastic, nothing really WOW, but it is SO BLOODY BEAUTIFUL. It also helps that Freja is wearing it. But oh my. The things I would do just to be able to have a dress like that. I like this new guy, Peter Dundas, and what he's done for Emilio Pucci this Fall 2009. It kind of was in a need for a bit of a facelift. And he's done just that. I think it will take a while for us to let this new Pucci look settle. But I can see it working, I can see people wearing it, and I can see me crying because I will never be one of those people.

Let me tell you a story.

I have an aunt.

This aunt, has several friends.

Some of these several friends have a lots of money.

One of those several friends with lots of money, decided to spend some.

One of the several bags went to this very aunt of mine.

This very aunt of mine, doesn't quite enjoy the bag, despite its exclusivity.

I, myself, am also not a fan of it, despite its exclusivity.

However, I certainly do see its charm and potential uses, unlike my aunt, who can't seem to match it with anything.

So she told me, who knows, maybe I could borrow it indefinitely, once she's carried it around enough.

I agreed. And so patiently wait.

In any case, I present to you: The Louis Vuitton Monogram Roses Neverfull MM, from the Stephen Sprouse for Louis Vuitton collection. It's quite a fun bag, and I do say it grows on you. (And actually I really can't resist the fuschia lining inside. The pink virus strikes me again!)

I have to confess, I only watch award shows for two things - Red carpet arrivals and the musical performances. And whilst I'm religiously following the internet as it religiously follows with Oscar red carpet fashion and award show line-ups, I discover this:

That swept-back ginger-ish hair, that bold lipstick, that clean face, the incredible sexiness that just drips off her even though every inch of her is covered. Do you think if I wore this moving dress from Hussein Chalayan's Spring 2007 show to the office the bosses would stop pushing me around to do stuff that they're too lazy to do when they are clearly the ones with the know-how? Like I told one of my bosses today, "It's like the blind leading those who can bloody see!" Okay, I didn't say the "bloody" of course. But I certainly meant it. *grits teeth*

I am glad that I've always stuck to my own motto, which I learnt as a child from the character Rasputin in Anastasia, the animated film. He said, and I quote - "If you want something done, you have to do it yourself." I've certainly stuck by it. I just wish these lazy arses would start thinking about cleaning their own shit for a change.

Who would have thought, that people could share apple-eating habits. :) La C, you are way too cute, so I realy wouldn't mind if we were twins. At least we'd enjoy apples the way we like them! I'm thinking...apple tartin in Paris? :)

For the past few weeks I've been busy but happy with dance. I've been choreographing an item for a mini dance production at my former university and needless to say I love it. It's stressful sometimes with many different challenges, but this is the kind of stress that is the best kind - because it just disappears. It disappears the minute you throw on that awesome costume, press 'play' and move. To watch the dance slowly take shape and my girls gaining confidence and a sense of the item is one of the best rewards. And I daresay, one of the best rewards in life.

Creation is such a beautiful thing, no?

The Only Apple I'd Eat

I don't like eating apples. I don't hate the fruit. But I won't eat it unless I had to. Apple juice, apple pie, apple ices - all fine. I just find the fruit very bland and uneventful.

However, there is nothing bland about Shiina Ringo. Words cannot describe how much I love this woman. So I'll just leave you with a picture of her performing live somewhere, whilst I wish to the heavens that I had been the one who had taken this picture. 残念だね・・・

Hello loves. In case you thought we've died, we haven't. In many ways we have. For instance, I certainly have in terms of work and academic frustration despite being out of school. Sigh. But no fear, we are still here and we remember all of you. We still have Johanne's tag to work on. I've not forgotten it, my dear! :)

And well, La C a.k.a La Lovely has given us an award. Really, the support she has shown for our blog has been so immense. We have no words, La C! We are so incredibly touched.

I Miss You All!

A big hello to everyone! I've been pretty much MIA from the blogsphere, I know. I miss all of you, really I do. And I've been keeping up with Hui's posts and your comments (thank you La C and Johanne for asking about me. I feel loved! You are not forgotten ♥ ). Well, here's a quick catch up!

Time really does fly! I've just started on a masters programme, which is going to last two years. I can't believe we're a week into feb already! The course has got some really fascinating material, and my coursemates (all 20 of them) are great people. Surprisingly, I've still managed to keep a semblance of a social life, going for gigs and meeting up with friends, but it means that my time spent on things like blogging suffers. I really have to thank hui for keeping it going! *plants a big wet one on hui's cheek*

In case you were wondering, the photo above is taken from the Prodigy gig. They are just insanely talented performers. I have never seen a crowd so hyped up for the full length of a concert!

Well, this is just me stopping by. Nothing very fashion-y to say I'm afraid.

When Rachel and I took a module on "Critical Discourse Analysis" at our university, we learnt that one way of interpreting the left to the right was to see it as "the given" and "the new". It was about how you had "old" i.e. an established, given piece of information and then brought to be introduced to the "new" concept i.e. never before related to the "old" except till now.

A Lapse In Space And Tam

I'm sure I'm very late on this particular bandwagon. But this was the first thing that leapt at me when I signed in to MSN this morning:

That's right, my beautiful Time Lords and Lordettes. This is the HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition. A laptop from HP (Hewlett-Packard), exclusively made beautiful by Vivienne Tam. It is no secret that I love the two Viviennes: the Westwood and the Tam. They even share the same spelling of the name, which in my opinion, is the best way to spell "Vivienne".

What made me sit up and gasp and nearly drop my sandwich when I saw this laptop? Well, for one it's so signaturely Vivienne Tam. How is one not to gasp? Secondly, the red is striking but not an eyesore. And this is because of the gentle way the peonies streak across the red, softening the bold colour into perfect balance. I also love that the inside of the laptop i.e. the keypad and the border around the screen are all flushed with the red of the cover. There is nothing I like more than a solid colour that weaves through the whole product, sealing it in aesthetic completion. This is something I'm very particular about, particularly for shoes. There is nothing worse than a shoe of a beautiful shape in a beautiful colour, being ruined by an unsightly, jarring, wrongly-coloured and shaped heel. There is something about the flush, that I love. Even in Poker, a flush is very much desired, not that it has any relation to this post whatsoever haha. :D

Oh and did I mention? It's called the HP Mini because it's light. So light you can carry it as a clutch. And a digital clutch for that matter.

So, so pretty! And so, so functional! What I would have done to have had this as a student. The lightness would have come in very, very useful. Ah well, doesn't hurt to just admire it from pictures and hope that someone asks Vivienne Westwood soon to put her mark on something technological.

I am truly sick of my bangs - they're tickling my face like there's no tomorrow. And yes, I'm still having a terrible day. This old picture captures all the disgruntled-ness I am feeling. Sigh. I shouldn't start on one of those "broken dreams" type of posts. Those are reserved for the more private journals I guess. In any case, I received a little cheer in chancing upon this lovely bag from the lovely Lanvin. It's called the Happy Partage Bag. It's such a delicate pop of colour. Bubblegum pink. It's a colour I don't like to admit that I like, but it seems I do love it very, very much. Like when I saw the Balenciaga Day Bag in bubblegum? An instant desire to shoplift surged through my soul.

Ah well. I look forward to the next up once this down is over!

Dear Rachel,

Happy Chinese New Year! I hope that you have collected a great many red packets. You know, those little traditional Chinesey things where we stuff money in little red envelopes...I hope you got plenty of those!

Why, you may ask. Well, it's to buy me more presents for the new year of course! And you'd better buy it soon because we have only, what, 12 of the 15 days left in our Chinese New Year celebrations? This Miu Miu Coffer Two Way Bag in Rosso would be the perfect addition to my CNY wardrobe. Especially as I still might have some visiting to do. After all, it's shape is casual, functional, structured, yet slouchy. The colour is bright, but not an eyesore. It's got a signature shape without screaming labels or monogrammes. It has double strap options, which you know I always love. And although it's in ruched calf leather and not patent leather, it's shiny enough to pass of. In fact, I kind of like this semi-shiny, semi-cracked leather look. Works for me.

So thank you! May the heavens of Chinese New Year open up and rain their red packets of blessings upon you! May the trees of the Lunar New Year blossom like a flourishing tree, showering upon you its bright red petals of wealth into your palms.

Moon Liver

Thank you, our dear regular readers, for still stopping by despite our accidental hiatus and for still tolerating our never-ending madness. (Okay, so it's just me who's insane). In any case, Rachel and I will probably be even more away from the blog, at least for this week as we partake in our Chinese Lunar New Year festivities. This year, is the Year of the Ox and it so happens that Rachel and I are both Year of the Ox babies. So a big moo from us to all!

Tonight is the eve of the Lunar New Year in which we eat a glorious meal of delicious dinner. And in my house at least, we always have the steamboat - which is basically a sort of big hot pot kept hot by charcoal and you cook your own food in it, resulting in a mightily delicious broth at the end of the night. Food for cooking include, all sorts of veggies, tofu, mushrooms, beef, pork, chicken, fish, liver, kidney, cuttlefish, scallop, squid, prawns...need I explain how the delicious broth comes about at the end of all this? Obviously, not. *drools*

Here's a little festive greeting from me to all of you. You must know that any sort of whacked-up cracked-out looking photoshopping, is done by me. In the words of a colleague of mine who happens to be a photoshop-whiz, I am learning how to use photoshop the "street" way, i.e. just going at it blindly. So, there you have it, the moon has turned again!

Alma Matters

I am more than terribly sorry that I've not been around these days to post. I haven't even had time to read a lot of your wonderful blogs and for that, I apologise as well. However, I chanced upon this today and simply had to put it up here.

I love shiny things. I love crazy colours that pop. I love shiny crazy popping colour things. Oh yeah, and I love the shape of the Alma bag that Louis Vuitton has. So what more a bag that combinese all these fun elements that I absolutely adore? When I worked at Vuitton that one month or so, I remember it was some Alma anniversary or something and we all had to memorise the history of the Alma and all sorts of things about it - what it was named after, how to describe it's shape, the different limited edition forms that it took... Countless pieces of information! Which I have since forgot, but I'm sure they can be unearthed easily on the web.

Anyway, enough talk. I present to you, the Louis Vuitton Vernis Alma in Rose Pop and Bleu Galactic. I am so crazy in love with them you wouldn't believe it. I haven't felt such love for Vuitton merch in a long while.

How Will I See This Through?

Dear Rachel,

I am having a terrible time at work because I have just been given an awful assignment, right in the middle of some other assignments. It really isn't the best thing when your former teacher is your boss. Because I think the fear you feel doubles and the power he/she has doubles. I want to tear my hair out and scream, I want to throw my cellphone into the sea, I want to drown my body in a bathtub of wine. This is one of the greatest obstacles and frustrations yet. And I don't know how I'm going to face them.

How can you help me see this through? To conquer this mountain? To cross this hurdle? How will you make me smile again? How will you keep those angry tears from flowing? How will you make me want to take care of myself again? How will you help me stop abusing myself by not taking care of my skin and hair? How will you stop me from giving up completely and dressing like I have no hope left in life?

The answer is simple, with this sheer Orb Flock Shirt from Vivienne Westwood Red Label. I know it's rather see-through but if you notice how it folds, you realise you could actually go bra-less in a top like this. And I'm sure you know by now, I am all for not wearing bras. It just feels more comfortable and on some days, it actually helps with feeling skinny and sexy. Look at how smart it can look when matched with the right bag (which was the Ebury bag I had pointed out a couple of posts ago), grey skinnies and a lovely fitted jacket, also from Vivienne Westwood Red Label. In this other picture here, you can see how the haphazard layering and draping of the sheer cloth really protects the front, which makes bra-lessness a truly feasible option. Furthermore, I always hate seeing the lines of bras and such stick out from sheer blouses, especially sheer patterened blouses. Unless you had some cute lingerie to show off, I find the straps and hooks and all those bits of the bra rather an eyesore.

So dear Rachel, since you know what's good for me. Please do what's good for me, and buy this aforementioned blouse. You know how I'm a real fan of Ms Westwood's designs. I am having such a bad day. This would be an instant shot of relief.

Well, at least for me he does. He looks just like the Edward Cullen that I have always pictured when I read the Twilight books. This is as close to my own Edward as it gets. Okay, apart from that Topman model a couple of years back. I think I still have his picture somewhere...

Why this random picture of David Bowie, you may ask. Apart from the fact that I think he is the human symbol of sex, the only link to fashion would be his crazy outfit choices and that he is married to the very beautiful Iman, who is needless to say, dazzling in her own right. She is also host of Canada's Project Runway, if I am not mistaken.

When I look at a woman and spot some Lanvin on her, I too fall in love with her! And as for that woman to have said that to him, what a blessed woman she is. I can't wait for the day where I can claim to have experienced this quote as well. (Even though I already have someone very much in love with me already. :p Hello love!)

Here's a beautiful picture of Mollie Sue from ANTM Cycle i-don't-know who was at some ANTM event. She is one of the rare few ANTM models who is savouring some REAL success but very quietly. I heard she scored Vogue somewhere or something. In any case, I am loving her sharp look. Such a quiet anger radiates from that severely cut fringe, the stony eyes and the architectural lipstick. A stunning face, to say the least.

Well we've gotten a few really well-thought out responses to our first HWYWI? post and in our response post which I hope to do up soon, I will try my best to incorporate some of the looks and ideas from all your suggestions. :)

Rachel has been busy with school and I've been busy trying to skive from work. Not a trait I'm proud of but not skiving would mean losing my sanity and since I'm already insane I don't have much to lose actually but well, no one's taking anything from me without asking.

I can't wait to show you my two new purchases. I've not gotten round to figuring out what to do with them yet or how to showcase them yet but it'll happen. Sorry for the lack of posts and for not visiting a lot of your blogs. I will catch up soon!

Not to worry, our lovely lovelies! Our title is not some kind of html error with strange alphabets and symbols. What it is, is in fact, the start of our How Would You Wear It? series! We don't profess to be the best dressed people in the world, and we can only dream of being half as unique as some of the greatest fashion icons in the world. This means we are fashion mortals - With certain ensembles, we win some, we lose some. When presented with certain items of clothing or an accessory, we know some and we don't know some. This is where you, our wonderful friends and readers come in. We know you have scoured the blogverse and have seen some of the amazing things people have pulled out of their closets and put on themselves. We know some of you have some awesome ways of dressing up and some real kooky concepts that we absolutely adore. Hence, my loves, let us begin! With the very first post in our HWYWI? series. On to #1!

What:Almost-knee-high black suede boots with a slight heel
From?:A hand-me-down from my aunt but comes from a brand called Stephane Kélian, Paris. She got it from Barneys about 10 years ago.

What are the issues?:
1) They aren't zip up boots, which makes wearing them over even my tightest, skinniest jeans kind of a problem.
2) Without jeans/pants, the only options I have left are wearing them with tights or just bare-legged, of which the latter makes me feel a little bit on the skanky side. That is certainly a look I hope I never have.
3) The suede also tends to make any outfit just look a little too formal. So it seems casual wear is out of the picture.

Here is a picture of me showcasing the full height of the boots and the potential skanky effect it might have. Although I should add that I am sans pants in this picture.

So dear readers, the question I present to you is, how would you wear it? How would you make it such that pants could be an option? Any alternative pants types/materials you would suggest? How also can I go bare-legged with these boots without looking like a pre-Richard Gere Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman? How would lighten the look of these boots? And wear it in a fun, casual wear? How would you make an essentially 'wintry' type boot, suitable for a casual spring or summer look?

We are sorry for the lack of posts dearies! Rachel and I are on an accidental mental hiatus for various reasons such as school and work but for me, it's mainly because I am still hungover from what was possibly the best gig of my life. Yes, Rachel and I (and some of our dearest friends as well) went to see the more-than-delightful, perceptively poetic, vocally flawless and impeccably charming Canadian band, Stars perform at the Esplanade. It was quite possibly the best musical experience I have ever had.

In any case, we have many new topics and things that we will be blogging about soon. For starters, I will be making a new little segment in this blog called How Would You Wear It? or HWYWI? for short. The first feature will involve some suede, some leg, and a whole lot to boot. :p Also, I will be showcasing some latest purchases of which I am very excited about. And I mean, very excited. *does a little jump*. We will also be answering some of the questions we've gotten such as when Chinese New Year is and also maybe a little bit about my dance background! ♥ *waves at La C*

Not forgetting, also, the continual abuse I will give to Rachel in forcing her to buy me more things. In fact, I had to use her credit card just last night for one of those personally very exciting purchases I was talking about. She is a very sweet girl. And I thank her for always showering me with gifts, money and just overall liberty in terms of using her credit card. I love you Rachel. ♥♥♥

Sorry for the late reply. As you know, I've begun my very demanding masters course in Speech and Language Pathology and don't know how much time I will have to write you from now on :(((. The Bagues Ancolia is indeed an exquisite piece. You are right, that drop is outstandingly subtle. It really does belong on your graceful, delicate finger. I shall look into steali- purchasing it for you as soon as I can.

I would like to clarify that I never said I'd buy you the Miu Miu Bow-Front Flats, or any shoes for that matter. I merely indicated that I would entertain the thought, because it was Christmas and because their colour was so pretty. If you would like, I could paint your feet pink. I think that is something I can much better afford.

Dior Carnivores

Dear Rachel,

I've been having a harrowing day at work. I need something to cheer me up. As I know you care for me immensely, I know you would acede to my every request. I know you would easily buy me a spot of tea or even a bouquet of flowers to spruce up my desk. However, I can make my own tea and I don't like fresh flowers, for various reasons.

So why not get the next best thing? Consider this: I love rings. And I'm currently trying to find that thumb ring you gave me because I think it slipped off so I'm rather down about that. Yes, so I love rings, and different kinds of jewels make different girls happy. Secondly, I love beautiful names. With a collection themed around Carnivorous Flowers and aptly named Milly Carnivora, I have undisputedly fallen in absolute love. Furthermore, I am a huge fan of the crazily creative and beautiful Victoire de Castellane who designs for Dior Haute Joaillerie. So to have such delightful, exquisite and out-of-this-world pieces from her, I cannot think of a better way to brighten my day.

Take for instance one of my favourites - and if you saw the whole collection you would realise picking a single favourite is virtually impossible - which you can see in the picture above, called the Bagues Ancolia. How can I resist the strangely attractive clash of colours? Or that delicate, nearly-missable pale pink drop of venom? And the almost too-bright but intoxicating green hoop that makes up the body of the ring? One ring like that could match all my coloured eye-liners, one of which I will feature on here soon. Just look at those delicious blue petals, the glorious twirls in its shape. There are too many wonderful things to relish in this ring alone. One ring like that could help all my black outfits pop. Remember my little colour request that I made on here? In which you replied so sweetly with the some lovely suggestions?

Well I'm sure you do remember. Now with such a post, won't I need to do some follow-up? Make a choice? Take a pick? And a choice I have a made, a pick I have taken, and lo and behold, I have decided that yes, you should get me the Miu Miu Bow-Front Flats. I think they pop just the right way and would be perfect for Chinese New Year Celebrations that are just around the corner. Furthermore, I like that even though they pop, they are incredibly simple and therefore terribly chic. That bow in the front adds just the right oomph without making it too hrmmmph, if you know what I mean from my onomatoepoeia.

So, yes, Rachel, I accept your offer of buying me the Miu Miu Bow-Front Flats. I think they are a great idea and I couldn't be more happy with this suggestion. Furthermore, you have always been aware that I've been looking for the absolute perfect pink shoe. This would probably be it. Well done, Rachel, and thank you very much. Flowers, Lipstick and Light

I am still amazed at how these turned out. The lighting came from a little reading lamp by my bedside, but the effect is almost surreal. Throw in some fake flowers and those vivacious lips of Hui's and you have a touch of magic. Well, this is just a result of us messing about. I hope you lovelies like it!

First up, thanks to all for your absolutely sweet comments! You guys made Rachel's and my day very much as we were very happy with that photoshoot. Hopefully we'll get to put more up and share with you the wonderful pictures that emerged from that shoot! :)

Secondly, we've been asked 2 questions and we're going to answer them here. Happy reading. :)

1) Johanne who runs Kvestelser asked where I got these shoes from, which I also put up in the picture above.
These shoes are from a now-defunct (and I don't know why they've disappeared :/) Singaporean brand that sold the best pop-art inspired, quirky, one-of-a-kind shoes that were of very good quality. The ones I'm wearing are black patent mary-janes from now-defunct, nué. It was about 220SGD which is approximately ₤106.

2) The lovely Capuccino B asked where Rachel and I live i.e. where we are from.
We are both Singaporeans and we live in our little dot of a country, Singapore, which you can read all about here. If you are aware of Fashion Nation, they are from Singapore as well.

Dear Rachel,

Thank you for the lovely pink nail polish that you got me for Christmas. I am sorry I could not help with the somewhat illegal gift I had gotten you. But I promised I will try and get it, some day some how.

In any case, let the festivities continue! I think we should celebrate! Especially since we've just finished our shoot as a haphazard entry for this competition here. We have to thank Erwin for giving us the heads up about this competition. Thank you Erwin.

What's more, we discovered some awesome accidental lighting that gave us some beautiful shots of flowers and lipsticks and tongues. How did we make it so beautiful? How did we capture such grace? I don't f-ing know but I am absolutely delighted.

Which is why I thought I should bring to your attention Vivienne Westwood's Ebury Bag in black. It is a beautiful bag and extremely affordable, at least if you sold everything you owned. My only problem with this bag is that it is 100% leather and I'm not really into leather, for various reasons. Which is why there is a slightly different version of this bag style-wise, the Large Two-Way Vernice Bag (Nero). What I like is, as with the Ebury, they have two strap options, have a great base and a quirky boxy shape. What is better about the Vernice is that it is made of patent leather, which always makes me a little happier than ordinary leather does.

So please, Rachel, spread the festive cheer!

How's the weekend going for all you beautiful people? This photo was taken at a brand new club called Zirca that's just opened in Singapore. It was a little gimmicky with cabaret inspired performances and girls in feathered masks dancing through the crowd, but the decor was gorgeous and the music was, well, let's just say I danced the night away! Throw in some free lychee martinis and fabulous company, and you get an enormously fun night.

I'm just exhausted. It's been a week of shopping, clubbing, barbecues, catching up with my cousin from Perth... phew. It's Saturday night and I'm taking a breather... until my sister and her friends pop by with a bottle of Absolut ;). Talk about a great holiday. More posts soon... after some of this madness subsides. Hui and I have a photo shoot on the way! ♥

Well dear readers, I'll have you know that I thank God for a friend like Hui too. This is a cake which she baked for my 22nd birthday last year (yes that makes me 23). It was really really sweet - both the cake and Hui's gesture. Once again, it showcases our general insanity. You should have seen us laugh when we brought the cake out and everyone in the room went... "HUH?!". Of course, I had to add that second photo because... I really have no memory of what we were doing/thinking at that precise moment the camera snapped this photo. Add that to the tons of inexplicable photos we have. Here's one more for the road:

Phew. I should probably warn everyone that the Aqua Teen Hunger Force is one of those cartoons where discretion is advised. Many of our friends who love us and our (offbeat) sense of humour have declared said show unwatchable, despite Hui's and my many attempts to per-suede them otherwise. Hui says there's nothing to apologise for, but I, being the more sane one, do feel obliged to issue a tiny precautionary warning. This is another of those pictures that defines the madness that is my friendship with Rachel. As you can see, the only tension experienced is the tightness in our chests and stomachs from laughing too hard.

Why the suede mention in the title, you ask? Well, Rachel's got her gray suede booties on, and I've got my black suede Gucci hand-me-down handbag from my aunt. Dancing randomly in the street with a cigarette in hand is a pretty neat feeling. Go try that some day.
